Representatives from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for International Relations at the UPV/EHU and Euskampus were at the meeting, organised by the Fundación Universidad and in conjunction with the CRUE.
This “I Meeting” was an initial outreach by both university systems prior to a visit by a delegation of university chancellors in the second half of 2012.
Euskampus and the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for International Relations at the UPV/EHU used this opportunity to set up contacts and embark on institutional relations with different universities, including Tel Aviv UniversityTechnion University (Haifa) and the Weizmann Institute. The key role was also stressed that the International Campus of Excellence, Euskampus, plays in the international promotion of the UPV/EHU:
A second phase was subsequently established where the emphasis will be on exploring the opportunity of new agreements and joint collaborations.
Higher education in Israel is mainly focused on subject areas such as nanosciences, computing, biocomputing, iCTs applied to health and ageing, renewable energies, agriculture techniques, etc. Some of which coincide with the Euskampus specialisation areas.
