Euskampus Fundazioa, an institution created by the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, Tecnalia and DIPC, promotes the summer course “Experiences in the development of transformation strategies and processes” that will begin on 14 July at 15:00 hours at the Palacio Miramar in Donostia/San Sebastian.
For two days, internationally renowned speakers such as former Lehendakari Juan José Ibarretxe, Adam Price from Nesta (Wales) or Ángel Nieva, CEO of Bilbao Ría 2000, will read their lectures.
The course will be a space open to reflection, dialogue and collaboration and for the exchange of experiences with society and relevant agents of education, science, technology, innovation and culture fields. It will delve into the development of strategies and transformation processes in different areas: corporate, organisational and regional.
The Euskampus project, recognised as a Campus of International Excellence and led by the University of the Basque Country in collaboration with DIPC (Donostia Physics Center) and Tecnalia Corporación Tecnológica, is a public-private initiative created as a key tool for the transformation of the Basque society and a driver for scientific and technological progress. Euskampus is a collaboration framework for all the agents that partake in this project with a cooperative and multi-disciplinary focus to give due response to social and global challenges from science and technology. It promotes educative, research and knowledge transfer actions that affect directly the employability of future professionals in an international context, as well as the creation of knowledge and the translation into innovative products and services, while collaborating with companies and institutions of the Basque Country and strongly impacting the entrepreneurial character of the area and its internationalisation.
In the framework of the UPV/EHU Summer Courses, Euskampus is also a forum for reflection. This course is a good example of this, bringing together, for two days, high-level lectures and debates regarding the economic, social and cultural changes that we are observing, of which the speakers of this course are the protagonists.
The Euskampus project is defined as a Community of Knowledge Poles. It is highly relevant at the moment as the Basque Country’s Smart Specialisation Strategy for the next few years is currently being established and it is called to play a decisive role in its deployment.
