The third edition of the cross-border Doctoriales in Aranzazu (Gipuzkoa) took place last week, jointly organized by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the Université de Pau et Pays de l’Adour (UPPA). It was addressed to PhD candidates registered through the Doctoral Schools of UPPA and the Master and Doctoral School of UPV/EHU, apart from those there were also PhD candidates from the University of Bordeaux, the Public University of Navarra and the University of Zaragoza.
The program designed by TAE-Tecnalia, had as main target giving PhD candidates tools to develop the appropriate skills and abilities that would enable them to successfully reach the current job market. This team, the “Team Academy Euskadi” was created as a learning and experimentation lab to develop innovative leaders and team entrepreneurs.
Thanks to this, different programs and courses have been designed in several places to transmit two basic concepts: leadership, as a skill to take the leads of your own life and career and the entrepreneurship as a skill to see opportunities and to carry out projects where uncertainty is an important element to manage.
This kind of courses imply a big effort for universities but also give an important message to PhD candidates, that is, they have a great opportunity to work and learn with members from different fields and cultures in their same situation, and at the same time they can share ideas and knowledge that will be profitable in the future.
